"…I fear nothing."

Hated for the circumstances of her birth, Eira chose to walk a life of solitude. She obeyed her maker's orders and never looked back—never feeling or regretting; for if she did, she'd be marked as flawed.

"…It's best if I'm alone."

Now a tortured soul with a bloody past, Eira keeps to herself and doesn't let anyone in. But the past has a way of creeping up when you least expect it and no matter how much she runs, she can't keep her biggest secrets hidden forever.

"…My heart will betray me."

Fire in one hand and a blade in the other, she now fights the maker she once obeyed for forty years—a darkness gnawing at her mind, threatening to consume her. With few to turn to, she finds herself seeking help from the one man she swore she would never get close to. But in doing so, her secrets quickly unravel, and she finds herself admitting one taboo thing…

"…I'm afraid…"

I was so excited then Shannon sent me a message and asked if I wanted to read the next book in the Experimental Heart Series. I have read and reviewed the last two books for this blog, so I am sure you guys remember me talking about them. In this book we move further into the depths that define the character Eira. A Nu-Human that was made to be an assassin, she is not like your ordinary strong female character. Instead she is quirky, awkward and can not handle normal emotions well. But that doesn’t stop her from getting the help of a handsome Dragon named Raikidan who I believe to a very important character in this series. Together they fight with the help of some friends to shake the city free of an evil leader.

I believe in this book Eira has come to some understand that she must accept the feelings that she has for Rai and her friends. I think even though she accepted the emotions, she is still scared which left me in a devastating cliffhanger. That now has me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book to come out. This book is full of action and some cute romance moments.

Recently I have become more comfortable with MPOV books, I think that Shannon does a great job in this book including other characters POV. They didn’t seem out of place and it felt like they were able to complete the scene instead. It has been a fun journey so far reading these books and learning more and more about these characters. In fact I even bought my sister the first book so she can read them too. The first book is only 0.99, so go and grab it and start this series with me. I’m sure you won’t regret it.
