Slithers are vicious creatures. Craving flesh and blood, they will stop at nothing until their hunger is satisfied. So when sixteen year old Benjamin King discovers that one has been smuggled onto the train, he's eager to see it, even if it has been drugged into a mindless stupor.
But one moment can change everything.
Set six years before Niko, Pale and Crimson chronicles how one decision can have far reaching consequences.

I’m going to do a bit of an introduction before this review. I read this a while back, but after losing all the content on my website, I’m posting it again. I’m a little disappointed in my review so I’ll probably re-read and review soon. I also read the 2nd full-book and somehow never reviewed it. So I need to reread that as well. I’m just a goof.  Anyways, I really love this story and I hope you give it a read as well!

How can I explain how much I loved this short story? I know it’s hard to fit a lot of emotion into such a small amount of space, but Kayti Nika Raet absolutely pulled it off. I was on the edge of my seat through most of the story. I think it’s safe to say this author has a gift, and I cannot wait to read more of her work. I have been put on a no-buy until I can work through some of the books I already own and this is killing me! The characters in the story have me hooked. I really hope Ben is in her main book. I think his cocky attitude plus the events in this story will make for a fantastic side-story. This book is free on Amazon, so go read it. You won’t regret it!

I’m a geek blogger, mom, a wife, and a reader. My family and I are currently living in the beautiful state of Colorado. I started my blog after I landed myself in the hospital for multiple pulmonary embolisms. It took over a year to diagnose me with lupus among other things. It’s been a long journey but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I read all genres and I write about anything I feel like; From my issues with Lupus/RA/pulmonary embolisms to what is going on in the book world. Every day is a new adventure!
